The HMC553ALC3B is a general-purpose, double-balanced, gallium arsenide (GaAs), single-chip microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) mixer in a RoHS-compliant, pinless, lead-free LCC package.The HMC553ALC3B is designed to be used as an up-converter or down-converter over the frequency range of 6 GHz to 14 GHz. The mixer requires no external components or matching circuitry.

The HMC553ALC3B uses an optimised balun structure to provide local oscillator (LO) to radio frequency (RF) and LO to intermediate frequency (IF) rejection. The mixer employs an LO drive level range of 9 dBm to 15 dBm. The HMC553ALC3B eliminates the need for wire bonding and allows the use of surface mount fabrication techniques.
