The AD1582ARTZ is a low-cost, low-power, low-dropout, precision bandgap reference voltage source. These are three-pin (series) devices housed in a compact 3-pin SOT-23 surface-mount package. These reference voltage sources feature versatile functionality, making them ideal for use in battery-powered 3 V or 5 V systems where power supply voltage fluctuations are significant and power consumption must be minimised.

The exceptional accuracy and temperature stability of the AD1582ARTZ are achieved through the precise matching and thermal tracking characteristics of its internal components. Utilising a patented design technique for temperature drift curvature correction, the nonlinearity of the voltage output temperature characteristics is minimised.

The AD1582ARTZ series mode devices can provide up to 5 mA of source or sink current to the load and operate effectively with as little as 200 mV of power supply voltage margin. These devices consume a maximum static current of 70 μA, with a power supply voltage variation of only 1.0 μA/V. Compared to traditional shunt devices, these devices offer significant advantages. By using an input series resistor, valuable power supply current is no longer wasted, and high efficiency is achieved across all input voltages.
