The TPS92661QPHPRQ1 device is a compact, highly integrated shunt FET dimming solution for LED arrays. A highly integrated solution for shunt FET dimming of large arrays of high-brightness LEDs in applications such as automotive headlights, the TPS92661QPHPRQ1 device consists of a 12-switch series array for bypassing individual LED arrays. The TPS92661QPHPRQ1 device includes a 12-switch series array for bypassing individual LED arrays, a serial communication interface for bypassing individual LEDs in the string, and a host microcontroller for control and management. The on-board charge pump rail can be floated to provide gate drive for the LED bypass switches, low on-resistance (RDS(on)) of the bypass switches.The TPS92661QPHPRQ1 device contains a multi-fractional Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) for serial communications. The turn-on and turn-off times for each LED in the string are programmable, and the PWM frequency can be synchronised to the same frequency and phase using an internal multi-device synchronisation.The TPS92661QPHPRQ1 devices feature open LED protection, as well as open and short-circuit fault protection for the LEDs.
