Product Description

The TPS54622RHLT device, in a thermally enhanced 3.5mm × 3.5mm VQFN package, is a full-featured 17V 6A synchronous step-down converter; with high efficiency and integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs, the device is optimised for small footprint designs. Current-mode control significantly reduces component count, while inductor size is reduced by selecting a high switching frequency, resulting in further space savings.


The output voltage start-up ramp is controlled by the SS/TR pin, which supports both independent power supply operation and tracking mode. Additionally, power sequencing can be achieved by properly configuring the enable and open-drain power good pins.


Cycle-by-cycle current limiting of the high-side FET protects the device in overload situations and is enhanced by low-side pull current limiting to prevent runaway current. In addition, a low-side sink current limit is provided to turn off the low-side MOSFET to prevent excessive reverse current. Intermittent protection is triggered when the overcurrent duration exceeds a preset time. Thermal intermittent protection disables the device when the die temperature exceeds the thermal shutdown temperature and re-enables the part after the built-in thermal shutdown intermittent time.
