The MAX8647ETE can drive up to six white LEDs or two sets of RGB LEDs at a constant adjustable current for display backlighting and fun lighting applications. By utilising an inverting charge pump and a very low dropout adaptive current regulator, these ICs achieve extremely high efficiency throughout the entire 1-cell Li+ battery supply period. Extremely high efficiency is achieved over the entire single-cell Li+ battery voltage range, even with large LED forward voltage mismatches. 1MHz fixed frequency switching allows for external components. The regulation scheme is optimised to ensure low EMI and low input ripple. Thermal shutdown, open and short circuit protection is included.
