The STP16CPC05MTR is a monolithic, low-voltage, low-current power 16-bit shift register designed for LED panel displays.The STP16CPC05MTR contains a 16-bit serial-input, parallel-output shift register that powers a 16-bit D-type memory register. In the output stage, 16 regulated current sources provide constant current from 5 mA to 100 mA to drive the LEDs. The output stage design of the STP16CPC05MTR is optimised for on and off times, typically 100 nS. Balanced on/off reduces bypass capacitance and improves system performance in applications where parasitic inductance can create ringing or noise in the system. controlled by an external resistor to regulate the output current.

The STP16CPC05MTR guarantees 20 V output drive capability, allowing the user to connect more LEDs in series. a high clock frequency of 30 MHz makes the device suitable for high data rate transmission. a 3.3 V power supply is available for applications interfacing with 3.3 V microcontrollers.
