The MAX20038ATID integrates a 3.5A automotive-grade buck converter, USB host charging adapter emulator, and USB protection switch for automotive SUB host applications. The device supports flexible configuration options for standalone and supervisory applications and can be set to operate accordingly using external programming resistors and/or internal I2C registers (via the I2C bus).

Optimised for high-frequency operation, the MAX20038ATID includes programmable frequency options from 310kHz to 2.2MHz, allowing efficiency, noise and board space to be optimised according to application requirements. The fully synchronous DC-DC converter features integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs, external SYNC inputs/outputs, and can be configured for spread-spectrum operation.
