The LM5025AMTCX is a functional variant of the LM5025 active clamp PWM controller.The LM5025AMTCX differs functionally in that: the CS1 and CS2 current limit thresholds have been increased to 0.5 V; the internal CS2 filter-discharge device is disabled and no longer operates during each clock cycle; and the internal VCC and VREF regulators will continue to operate when the line UVLO pin falls below the threshold. VREF regulators will continue to operate when the line UVLO pin falls below the threshold.
The LM5025AMTCX PWM controller includes all the features needed to implement a power converter using active clamp/reset techniques. The active clamping technique achieves higher efficiency and greater power density than traditional capture winding or RDC clamp/reset techniques. Two control outputs are provided: mains switching control (OUT_A) and active clamping switching control (OUT_B). Two internal composite gate drivers can be paralleled with MOS and bipolar devices to provide excellent gate drive characteristics. Designed for high-speed operation, the controller features an oscillator frequency range of up to 1 MHz and total PWM and current-sense propagation delays of less than 100 ns. The LM5025AMTCX includes a high-voltage start-up regulator and operates over a wide 13 V to 90 V input range. Other features include: undervoltage line lockout (UVLO), soft-start, oscillator uplink and downlink synchronisation, precision reference and thermal shutdown.
