The TPS51125ARGER is a cost-effective dual synchronous buck controller designed specifically for laptop power supply solutions. The device features 5V and 3.3V low-dropout regulators (LDOs) and requires only a minimal number of external components. The 270 kHz VCLK output can be used to drive an external charge pump, thereby generating gate drive voltage for the load switch without compromising the efficiency of the main converter. The TPS51125ARGER supports high efficiency, fast transient response, and provides combined power good signals. Audio-free mode light load operation achieves low acoustic noise at higher efficiency than traditional forced PWM operation. Adaptive on-time D-CAP control enables convenient and efficient operation. The device supports input supply voltages from 5.5 V to 28 V and output voltages from 2 V to 5.5 V. The TPS51125ARGER is available in a 24-pin QFN package with an operating temperature range of –40°C to 85°C.
