The MAX40203AUK is an ideal diode current switch with a forward voltage drop approximately an order of magnitude smaller than a Schottky diode. When forward biased, the MAX40203AUK has a voltage drop of 230mV and can carry currents as high as 1A. During a short circuit or fast power-up, the device limits its output current to 2A. The MAX40203 is thermally protected and can provide overcurrent protection for itself as well as any downstream circuitry.

The ideal diode operates from a 1.2V to 5.5V supply voltage. The supply current is relatively constant with respect to the load current, typically 300nA. When disabled (EN = low), the ideal diode blocks up to 6V in either direction, making it suitable for most low-voltage, portable electronic devices.

The MAX40203AUK is available in a 5-pin SOT-23 package. The device operates over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range.
