Product Description

The TLE7368-2E device is a multi-function power supply circuit designed for automotive power systems using standard 12 V batteries. The device is designed to power and monitor the next generation of 32-bit microcontroller family devices (13 μm lithography) that require 5 V, 3.3 V or 1.2 V voltages. The regulator follows the previous generation TLE6368 design where the pre-regulator output is used as the input to the microcontroller linear power supply.


Feature Description:

Highly efficient next-generation microcontroller power supply system

Wide battery input voltage range < 4.5 V to 45 V

Operating temperature range Tj = -40 °C to +150 °C

Pre-regulator to reduce overall power loss: integrated current-mode buck converter 5.5 V/2.5 A

Post-regulators, e.g. for system and controller I/O supply: LDO1: 5 V ±2%, 800 mA current limit, LDO2: 3.3 V ±2% or 2.6 V ±2% (optional output), 700 mA current limit

Integrated linear regulator control circuitry to power the controller chip: LDO3 control for external NPN power stage: 1.2V ±2%

Backup regulator for off-board power supply: 2 tracking regulators that follow the main 5 V regulator at 105 mA and 50 mA

Backup regulator with very low current consumption: linear voltage regulator for backup power, e.g., for memory circuits, output voltage selectable in hardware between 1.0 V or 2.6 V, current 30 mA, separate battery input isolated from buck regulator inputs

Hardware controlled on/off logic

Undervoltage detection: undervoltage reset circuitry with adjustable power-on reset delay time, backup power supply with undervoltage monitoring circuitry

Window watchdog circuit

Over-current protection for all regulators

Controller power sequencing

Over-temperature shutdown
