The MAX16173ATB/VY is an ideal diode controller to provide system protection against input transients and reverse current conditions. a wide operating voltage range of 3V to 50V and a shutdown current of 3μA make the device ideal for automotive applications. The built-in boost converter is capable of driving the gate of an external n-channel power MOSFET to operate above 11V. Fast pull-up and pull-down current sources rectify 50kHz to 250kHz AC components on the mains input. The device blocks reverse current flow by shorting the gate to the source when the input is 10mV lower than the output (typical).
