The TPS92519QDAPRQ1 is a monolithic dual synchronous buck LED driver with a wide operating input voltage range of 4.5V to 65V that can independently power two strings of LEDs connected in series. Implementing adaptive on-time averaging current mode control, it is designed to be compatible with shunt FET dimming technology and dynamic beam headlamps based on LED matrix managers. The adaptive on-time control provides a near constant switching frequency that can be set using the FSET input. Inductor current sensing and closed-loop feedback provide accuracy of ±4% or more over a wide range of input voltage, output voltage, and ambient temperature.
High-performance LED drivers can individually modulate the LED current using analogue dimming or PWM dimming techniques. A linear analogue dimming response in excess of the 16:1 range can be achieved by varying the voltage from 140mV to 2.45V over a high impedance analogue dimming (IADJ) input range. PWM dimming of the LED current is achieved by directly modulating the corresponding UDIM input pin with the desired duty cycle and frequency. The device supports high-frequency shunt FET dimming and is compatible with pixel control techniques using LED matrix managers.
The TPS92519QDAPRQ1 is available in an 8.1mm × 11mm thermally enhanced 32-pin HTSSOP package with a 2.75mm × 3.45mm bottom exposed pad.
