Product Description

The LM2575HVSX-12 is a high-voltage, buck-type switching voltage regulator. It belongs to the classic ‘Simple Switcher’ power management series, designed to efficiently, simply, and reliably convert a higher DC input voltage into a lower, stable DC output voltage.


At its core is a fixed-output 12V regulator, meaning it does not require an external feedback resistor network, simplifying external circuit design. It integrates a frequency compensation circuit and a fixed-frequency oscillator, along with a high-voltage-rated switch, capable of withstanding input voltages up to 60V, making it ideal for environments such as industrial, automotive, and communications where high-voltage transients are present.


 The LM2575HVSX-12 is packaged in a TO-263-5 (D2PAK) package, offering excellent heat dissipation performance and capable of handling higher power levels.

Wide input voltage range (HV version): Up to 60V, capable of withstanding voltage surges and transients in harsh environments.

Fixed output voltage: 12V ±4% accuracy, eliminating the need for external feedback resistors, simplifying design, and reducing component count.

High output current: Maximum continuous output current of 3A, sufficient to drive multiple loads.

High conversion efficiency: Up to 90% (depending on input-output voltage difference and load conditions), significantly outperforming linear regulators and reducing heat generation.

Internal frequency compensation and fixed-frequency oscillator: The oscillator frequency is fixed at 52 kHz, reducing the need for external components, simplifying design, and lowering the complexity of the electromagnetic interference (EMI) spectrum.

Low-power standby mode: Features an enable pin (ON/OFF) to place the chip in low-power standby mode, where power consumption is extremely low (typical value 50 µA), facilitating power management.

Overcurrent protection: Internal cycle-by-cycle current limiting functionality prevents chip damage in the event of an output short circuit.

Thermal shutdown: When the chip junction temperature exceeds the safe limit (approximately 125°C), the output is automatically shut down and resumes operation once the temperature decreases.

Robust external component support: Only four external components (inductor, capacitor, freewheeling diode, and input capacitor) are required to build a complete, efficient buck power supply circuit.
