The TPS2592ZADRCR electronic fuse is a highly integrated protection and power management solution in a small package. The device uses minimal external components and provides multiple protection modes. It effectively prevents overloads, short circuits, voltage surges, excessive surge currents, and reverse currents.

The current limit level can be set using an external resistor. Applications with special voltage slope requirements can use a single capacitor to set the dV/dT pin, ensuring the appropriate output slope rate.

Many systems (e.g., SSDs) prohibit the reverse flow of stored capacitor energy through the FET diode to the buck or short-circuit input bus. The BFET pin is specifically designed for such systems. An external NFET can be connected in a ‘back-to-back (B2B)’ configuration with the TPS2592ZADRCR output, while the BFET-driven gate prevents current from flowing back from the load to the power supply.
