The ADP2384ACPZN is a synchronous step-down DC-DC regulator that integrates a 44 mΩ high-end power MOSFET and an 11.6 mΩ synchronous rectifier MOSFET in a compact 4 mm × 4 mm LFCSP package to provide a high-efficiency solution. The device uses a peak-current-mode, constant-frequency pulse-width modulation (PWM) control scheme for excellent stability and transient response, and the ADP2384ACPZN's switching frequency is programmable from 200 kHz to 1.4 MHz. To reduce system noise to a low level, a synchronisation function allows the switching frequency to be synchronised with an external clock.

The ADP2384ACPZN requires very few external components and has an input voltage range of 4.5 V to 20 V. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.6 V to 90% of the input voltage, providing continuous current up to 4 A. The ADP2384ACPZN has an output voltage of 0.6 V to 90% of the input voltage. Each IC draws less than 100 μA from the input source when disabled.

The regulators are targeted at high-performance applications requiring high efficiency and design flexibility. External compensation and an adjustable soft-start feature provide design flexibility. Power good outputs and precision enable inputs provide simple and reliable power supply timing.

Other important features include undervoltage lockout (UVLO), overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), short circuit protection (SCP), and thermal shutdown (TSD).

The ADP2384ACPZN operates over a -40°C to +125°C junction temperature range and is available in a 24-pin 4 mm × 4 mm LFCSP package.
