The TPS62172DSGR are easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC-DC converters optimised for high power density applications. With switching frequencies up to 2.25MHz typical, the devices allow the use of small inductors, provide fast transient response and achieve high output voltage accuracy by utilising the DCS-Control™ topology.

With a wide operating input voltage range of 3V to 17V, the devices are ideally suited for systems powered by Li-Ion or other batteries and 12V intermediate supply rails. Output voltages range from 0.9V to 6V and support continuous output currents of up to 0.5A (using 100% duty cycle mode).

Additionally, power sequencing can be achieved by configuring the enable pin and the open-drain power normal state pin.

In power-save mode, the device generates approximately 17µA of quiescent current based on the input voltage (VIN). The power-save mode is automatic and seamless when the load is low, while the mode maintains high efficiency over the entire load range. The device is switched off in shutdown mode, during which the current consumption is less than 2µA.

The device is available in adjustable output voltage and fixed output voltage versions in a 2mm x 2mm 8-pin WSON package (DSG).
