The MAX5995BETE provides a complete electrical equipment (PD) interface to enable Power over Ethernet (PoE) systems to comply with IEEE® 802.3af/at/bt standards. The MAX5995BETE device provides PD with a detect signature, hierarchical signature, and integrated isolated power switch with start surge current control.

During startup, the MAX5995BETE device limits the current to 135mA (typical) and then switches to a higher current limit (1800mA to 2400mA, typical) after the isolated power MOSFETs are fully enhanced. The MAX5995BETE device features multiple event stages, intelligent MPS, UVLO with wide hysteresis and long peak time resistance to compensate for the resistive voltage drop of twisted pair cables, as well as to ensure interfertion-free conversion during power on/power off conditions. The input of the MAX5995BETE device can withstand up to 100V.
