4-Channel PMBus Power System Manager with Accurate Input Current and Energy Measurements

Product Description

The LTC2975IUP is a 4-channel power system manager for sequencing, trimming (servoing), margining, monitoring, managing faults, providing remote sampling, and creating fault logs.PMBus commands support power sequencing, precision point-of-load voltage regulation, and margining.The DAC employs a proprietary softwire algorithm to maximise power supply perturbation suppression. Monitoring features include overcurrent and undercurrent, voltage, and temperature thresholds for the four power output channels, as well as overvoltage and undervoltage thresholds on a single power input channel. Programmable fault response can deactivate the power supply with the option to "perform a retry after a fault is detected". Faults that cause the power supply to deactivate automatically trigger the black box EEPROM memory to record the fault status and associated remote samples. An internal 16-bit ADC monitors four output voltages, four output currents, four external temperatures, input voltages and currents, and chip temperature. In addition, input power, energy and output power are calculated. A programmable watchdog timer monitors the microprocessor operation for stall conditions and resets the microprocessor if necessary. A single-wire bus enables power synchronisation across multiple LTC power system management (PSM) devices. The configuration EEPROM supports autonomous operation and does not require additional software.
