The MAX20010CATPY/V+ is a high efficiency, synchronous, step-down converter that operates over a 3.0V to 5.5V input voltage range and provides a 0.5V to 1.5875V output voltage range. The wide input/output voltage range and load drive capability of up to 6A make the IC ideal for on-board point-of-load and back-end regulator applications. the IC has an output accuracy of ±2% over the full load, supply and temperature range.
The IC can operate in 2.2MHz fixed frequency PWM mode, providing improved noise immunity and load transient response, or in pulsed frequency modulation mode (SKIP) for more efficient operation under light load conditions. 2.2MHz operating frequency allows the use of full ceramic capacitors, minimising the footprint of the solution. Programmable spread spectrum modulation maximises the suppression of electromagnetic emissions. Integrated low RDS(ON) switch greatly improves efficiency at heavy loads and simplifies circuit layout compared to discrete solutions.
The IC has factory preset output voltages (see ordering information for options.) The I2C interface provides dynamic voltage regulation with programmable swing rates. Other features include programmable soft-start, over-current and over-temperature protection.
