The ADS131M08QPBSRQ1 is an eight-channel, synchronous sampling, 24-bit Delta-Sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The ADC has wide dynamic range, low power consumption and specific characteristics of power measurement. With these characteristics, the device is well suited for power metering, power metering and circuit breaker applications. The ADC input can be connected directly to a resistive voltage divider network or a power transformer to measure voltage, or to a current transformer or Rogowski coil to measure current. Individual ADC channels can be configured independently based on sensor input. Low noise, programmable gain amplifiers (PGA) provide gains from 1 to 128 to amplify low level signals. The device integrates interchannel phase calibration and offset and gain calibration registers to help eliminate signal chain errors.
The ADS131M08QPBSRQ1 integrates a low drift, 1.2V reference, thereby reducing the area of the printed circuit board (PCB). The cyclic redundancy check (CRC) option can be enabled separately in data input, data output, and register mapping to ensure communication integrity. Devices comply with AEC-Q100 certification for automotive applications.
