The TPS7B8650BQDDARQ1 is a low dropout linear regulator dedicated to connecting batteries in automotive applications. With an input voltage range of up to 40V, the device is designed to withstand the transients that can occur in automotive systems, such as sudden load drops. With a quiescent current of only 17µA at light loads, the device is an excellent solution for powering normally-open devices such as microcontrollers (MCUs) and controller area network (CAN) transceivers in backup systems.
The device's advanced transient response allows the outputs to respond quickly to load or line changes, such as during cold-start conditions. In addition, the device's novel architecture minimizes output overshoot during recovery from voltage dips. During normal operation, the device maintains ±0.85% DC accuracy over the entire line, load, and temperature range.
The power supply normal state indication delay can be adjusted through an external component, so the delay time can be configured to suit the application-specific system.
The device is packaged in a thermally conductive package so that heat can be efficiently transferred to the circuit board.
