The TLC6A598 device is a monolithic, high voltage, high current power 8-bit shift register designed for systems with relatively high load power requirements (e.g., LEDs). 

The device includes a built-in output clamp voltage to provide inductive transient protection. Power driver applications include relays, solenoids and other high current or high voltage loads. Each open-drain DMOS transistor has a separate chopper current limiting circuit to prevent damage in the event of a short circuit.

The TLC6A598 is characterised for operation over an ambient temperature range of -55°C to 125°C.
