The LTC3870EUF-1 is a PolyPhase® step-down slave controller, specially designed for multiphase operation with LTC's digital power system management DC/DC controller. By cascading itself with an LTC3887-1 controller, the LTC3870EUF-1 can achieve a compact and cost-effective solution for providing very large currents. A peak current mode architecture enables the LTC3870EUF-1 to have excellent current sharing performance between phases and between chips.

Because it can operate in coordination with LTC3887-1, LTC3870EUF-1 does not require additional I2C addresses, and it also supports all programmable features and fault protection functions. This device has the following main characteristics:
