The DS90UB929TRGCRQ1 is an HDMI to FPD-Link III bridge device that works in conjunction with the FPD-Link III DS90UB926Q-Q1/DS90UB928Q-Q1 deserialisers to provide a single-channel, high-speed, serial stream over a cost-effective 50Ω single-ended coaxial cable or a 100Ω differential shielded twisted-pair (STP) cable. serial stream over cost-effective 50Ω single-ended coaxial or 100Ω differential shielded twisted pair (STP) cable. The device serialises HDMI v1.4b inputs and supports up to WXGA and 720p video resolutions (24-bit colour depth) The DS90UB929TRGCRQ1 is also compatible with the DS90UB940-Q1/DS90UB948-Q1 deserialisers.

The FPD-Link III interface supports video and audio data transmission and full-duplex control (including I2C communication) over the same differential link. The integration of video data and control over a single differential pair reduces interconnect size and weight and simplifies system design. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is further reduced through the use of low-voltage differential signalling, data permutation and random generation.

The DS90UB929TRGCRQ1 supports multi-channel audio reception via HDMI or an external I2S interface. The device also provides an optional auxiliary audio interface.
