The HMC6300BG46 is a complete millimeter wave transmitter integrated circuit in a RoHS-compliant 6 mm x 4 mm wafer-level Ball Gate Array (WLBGA) package operating in a frequency range of 57 GHz to 64 GHz with a modulation bandwidth of up to 1.8 GHz. The integrated frequency synthesizer, tuned at 250, 500 or 540 MHz steps, has excellent phase noise and supports modulation up to 64-QAM. Alternatively, external LO can be injected, and the HMC6300BG46 supports user-selectable LO characteristics or phase-coherent transmit and receive operations and modulation up to 256-QAM.
Support for various modulation formats is provided through the universal analog baseband IQ interface. The HMC6300BG46 transmitter chip also supports dedicated FSK, MSK, OOK modulation formats, enabling lower cost and power consumption serial data links without the need for high-speed data converters.
