The AD9549ABCPZ device provides synchronization for many systems, including synchronous fiber optic networks (SONET/SDH). The AD9549ABCPZ can generate an output clock synchronized with one of the two external input references. The external reference may contain very poor time jitter or phase noise. During the period of reference loss, or even when both references are lost, the AD9549ABCPZ can continuously generate an effective, clean (low-jitter) output clock by using the numerical control loop and the holdover circuit.
