The LTC3311JV-1 is a very small, low noise, single-chip step-down DC/DC converter capable of delivering up to 12.5A output current from a 2.25V to 5.5V input. The device features a Silent Switcher 1 architecture with internal thermal return bypass capacitors for low EMI and high efficiency at switching frequencies up to 5MHz. For systems with higher power requirements, it is easy to implement a multi-phase parallel converter.
The LTC3311JV-1 features a constant-frequency, peak-current-mode control architecture for fast transient response, a 500mV reference voltage source for low-voltage outputs, and 100% duty cycle operation for low dropout voltage.
Other features include a power good signal to indicate that the output is regulated, precision enable thresholds, output overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown, temperature monitor, clock synchronisation, mode selection and output short circuit protection. The device is available in a compact 18-pin 3mm × 3mm LQFN package.
