The UCC23313BQDWYRQ1 is an optically compatible single channel isolated gate driver for IGBTs, MOSFETs and SiC MOSFETs with 4.5A peak pull and 5.3A peak fill currents and a 3.75kVRMS base type isolation rating. The high supply voltage range of 33V allows the use of bipolar supplies to efficiently drive IGBT and SiC power FETs.
The UCC23313BQDWYRQ1 can drive both low-side and high-side power FETs, and its key features and characteristics offer significant performance and reliability improvements over standard optocoupler-based gate drivers, while maintaining pin-to-pin compatibility in schematic and layout designs. Performance highlights include high common mode transient immunity (CMTI), low propagation delay and low pulse width distortion. Tight process control allows for small device-to-device offsets. The input stage is an emulated diode (e-diode), which means better reliability and ageing characteristics than conventional LEDs in optocoupler gate drivers. The device is available in an extended SO6 package with creepage distances and gaps greater than 8.5 mm and a relative leakage trace index (CTI) of more than 600 V for the plastic material (material group I). The high performance and reliability make it ideal for use in automotive motor drivers such as traction inverters, on-board chargers, DC charging stations and automotive HVAC and heating systems. The higher operating temperatures open up opportunities for applications that conventional optocouplers could not previously support.
