The LT8640/LT8640-1 buck regulators are based on the Silent Switcher architecture and are designed to minimise EMI/EMC emissions and provide high efficiency at frequencies up to 3MHz. With an ultra-low quiescent current of 2.5µA (when the output is fully regulated), they are suitable for applications requiring extremely high efficiency at very low load currents. the LT8640/LT8640-1 can achieve high VIN to low VOUT conversion at high frequencies with a fast minimum tip switching on time of 30ns. the SYNC/MODE pin is responsible for Selecting between burst mode, spread spectrum mode, synchronisation to an external clock, and pulse hopping (LT8640) or forced continuous mode (LT8640-1).
