The INA229AIDGSR is an ultra-precision digital power monitor with a 20-bit Δ-sigma ADC designed for current-sense applications that measures ±163.84mV or ±40.96mV full-scale differential inputs across a resistive shunt sense element with common mode voltage support ranging from -0.3V to +85V.
The INA229 reports current, bus voltage, temperature power, energy, and charge accumulation, and uses an integrated oscillator with ±0.5% accuracy while performing the required calculations in the background. An integrated temperature sensor is used for die temperature measurements with ±1°C accuracy and can be used to monitor the system ambient temperature.
The INA229 is designed with low temperature drift and gain drift to allow the device to be used in precision systems that do not undergo multiple temperature calibrations during manufacturing. In addition, very low offset voltage and noise allow use in mA to kA sensing applications and provide a wide dynamic range on the sense shunt element without significant power loss. The device's low input bias current allows the use of large current-sense resistors, which can provide accurate current measurements in the microampere range.
