The AD4080BBCZ is a high-speed, low-noise, low-distortion, 20-bit, easy-to-drive successive approximation (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Maintaining high performance (signal-to-noise to distortion ratio (SINAD) greater than 90 dBFS) at signal frequencies exceeding 1 MHz enables AD4080 to support a variety of precision, broadband and wide data acquisition applications. For applications that do not require a minimum latency of AD4080, noise and output data rate can be reduced through oversampling and integrated digital filtering and extraction, simplifying the input anti-aliasing filter design.
The AD4080 easy driving feature reduces signal chain complexity and power consumption while enabling higher channel density and flexibility in supporting device selection. The product input structure is designed to minimize any input associated signal current; Thus, the creation of artifacts caused by any converter is reduced. Compared to other high-speed data converters, the continuous acquisition architecture allows data to be built over the entire conversion cycle, reducing the build time and bandwidth requirements of ADC drivers.
AD4080 includes several components that simplify the integration of data converters: a low drift reference voltage buffer, a low voltage difference (LDO) regulator for generating ADC cores and digital interface supply rails, and 16K result data first in first out (FIFO), which can greatly reduce the load on the digital host. In addition, critical power supply and reference voltage decoupling capacitors are integrated into the package to ensure optimal performance, simplify printed circuit board (PCB) layout and reduce overall solution size.
