The MAX38886ATD charge/discharge regulator is a storage capacitor or capacitor bank backup regulator. The device is designed to efficiently transfer power between the storage element and the system power rails in reversible buck and boost operation with the aid of identical inductors. The regulator can be operated in buck mode when the main power supply is present and above the minimum system supply voltage and charge the storage elements with up to 500mA peak inductor current.
