The TLC6C5716QDAPRQ1 device is an automotive 16-channel constant current RGB LED driver that can be tested on LEDs.The TLC6C5716-Q1 device can provide up to 50mA of output current (set by an external resistor). The device has a 7-bit point calibration with 2 ranges per output. The device also has an 8-bit luminance control for each colour group output.
The brightness of each output can be adjusted with a 12-bit, 10-bit, or 8-bit greyscale control. The device's circuitry is capable of detecting a variety of system faults, including LED faults, shorted neighbouring pins, reference resistor faults, etc. The voltage swing control has 2 selectable outputs. The slew rate control has 2 adjustable positions to minimise system noise. There is a time lag between changes in output level from one LED group to another. The SDI and SDO pins allow multiple devices to be connected in series and controlled through a serial interface.
