Product Description

The UCC27444QDGNRQ1 is a dual-channel, high-speed, low-side gate driver that efficiently drives MOSFET and GaN power switches.The UCC27444-Q1's typical peak drive strength of 4A helps to shorten the rise and fall times of power switches, reduce switching losses, and improve efficiency. The device's fast propagation delay (18ns typical) improves system dead-time optimisation, control loop response, pulse-width utilisation and transient performance, resulting in increased power stage efficiency.


The UCC27444QDGNRQ1 handles -5V at the INx input, improving system robustness with gentle ground bounce. The input can be connected to most controller outputs for greater control flexibility. Independent enable signals support control of the power stage independent of the main control logic. In the event of a system failure, the gate driver can be quickly shut down by pulling the enable down. Many high-frequency switching power supplies have noise at the gate of the power device, which can enter the output pins of the gate driver and cause driver failure. This device, with its transient reverse current and reverse voltage capability, can withstand gate noise from power devices or pulse transformers and avoid driver failure.


The UCC27444QDGNRQ1 also features low-voltage operation and power-on reset (POR) to improve system robustness. A powerful internal pull-down MOSFET keeps the gate driver output low when there is not enough bias voltage to fully boost the power device.
