The ADSP-SC587 processor is part of a new, high performance, high efficiency, real time family that delivers floating point performance above 24 gigabits per second using two enhanced SHARC+® cores and advanced DSP accelerators (FFT, FIR, IIR). The ADSP-SC58x and ADSP-2158x families consume less than 2 watts of power, making the new processor family more than five times more powerful than its SHARC predecessor. This advantage provides industry-leading digital signal processing performance for a variety of applications where thermal management sets power limits or does not allow for higher fan costs and lower fan reliability. Such applications include automotive, consumer electronics and professional audio, multi-axis motor control and energy distribution systems.
