The ADAU1361BCPZ is a low-power stereo audio codec supporting stereo 48 kHz recording and playback, operating from a 1.8 V analogue supply with a power consumption of 10 mW. The stereo audio ADC and DAC support sampling rates ranging from 8 kHz to 96 kHz and incorporate digital volume control. This device is ideally suited for battery-powered audio and telephony applications.

The recording path incorporates an integrated microphone bias circuit and six input paths. Multiple inputs can be mixed and multiplexed prior to the ADC. Alternatively, analogue inputs may bypass the mixing section and be routed directly to the output analogue mixer. The device also supports stereo digital microphone inputs.

The ADAU1361BCPZ incorporates five high-power output drivers (two differential, three single-ended) supporting Surround Sound Headphones, earphones, or other output transducers. The device also supports AC-coupled or capacitorless configurations. All seven output pins feature independent precision level control. The output mixer stage enables flexible audio routing.

The serial control bus supports both I²C and SPI protocols. The serial audio bus is programmable for I²S, left/right-aligned, or TDM modes. A programmable PLL enables flexible generation of all standard integer clock frequencies and fractional master clock frequencies from 8 MHz to 27 MHz.
