The VN7050ASTR, manufactured using STMicroelectronics' proprietary VIPower M0-7 technology, is a single-channel high-side driver housed in an SO-8 package. This device is designed to drive 12V automotive ground loads via 3V and 5V CMOS-compatible interfaces, while providing protection and diagnostic features.

The device incorporates advanced protection features including load current limiting, active overload management via power limiting, and over-temperature shutdown with configurable latch-off capability.

A fault reset pin can release output latching during faults or disable the latch-off function.

A dedicated, multi-purpose multiplexed analogue output pin provides precision diagnostics. Beyond detecting overloads, ground shorts, VCC shorts, and open-load conditions during shutdown, it supports high-accuracy proportional load current sensing, supply voltage feedback, and chip temperature monitoring.

The detection enable pin disables shutdown diagnostics during the module's low-power mode and facilitates sharing of external detection resistors between identical devices.
