The ADUM1250ARZ is a hot-swappable digital isolator with a non-latching bidirectional communication channel compatible with the I2C interface. This eliminates the need to split the I2C signal into separate transmit and receive signals for use with independent optocouplers.

The ADUM1250ARZ provides two bidirectional channels, supporting fully isolated I2C interfaces. The ADuM1251 offers one bidirectional channel and one unidirectional channel, suitable for applications that do not require bidirectional clocking.

The ADUM1250ARZ incorporates hot-swap protection circuitry to prevent interference data when inserting a passive card into an active bus.

These isolators utilise ADI's iCoupler® chip-scale transformer technology. iCoupler is a magnetic isolation technology that offers superior functionality, performance, size, and power consumption compared to optocouplers. The ADUM1250ARZ integrates iCoupler channels with semiconductor circuits to provide a fully isolated I2C interface in a compact package.
