Product Description

The RC32012A003GN2 can regenerate and distribute ultra-low jitter clock outputs and features up to four independent frequency domains, which can be locked to an external reference clock or to a free-running crystal or oscillator. The main features include:

Two timing channels and four independent frequency domains

The output jitter is less than 100fs RMS

Digital PLL (DPLL) can be locked to any frequency within the range of 0.5kHz to 1GHz

The DPLL/ Numerical Control oscillator (DCO) can generate any frequency from 0.5Hz to 1GHz

The DCO output can be consistent in phase and frequency with the output of any DPLL or DCO

It can be used as a jitter attenuator, clock generator or synchronizer

The reference voltage monitor identifies/cancels the reference voltage source based on the LOS, activity, frequency monitoring and/or LOS input pins

The automatic reference selection state machine selects a valid reference for each DPLL based on the reference monitor, priority table, recoverable/non-recoverable, and other programmable Settings

This device requires a crystal oscillator or fundamental mode crystal: 25MHz to 54MHz

This device can be automatically configured in the following way after reset:

Internal customer programmable one-time programmable memory

Standard external I2C EPROM, via a separate I2C main port


The RC32012A003GN2 outputs an ultra-low jitter clock that can directly synchronize SERDES running at a rate of up to 56Gbps. And CPRI/OBSAI, SONET/SDH ADC/DAC. RC32012A003GN2 is highly suitable for 100G/200G/400G/800G telecommunications switching line cards, switching cards and wireless small cell applications.
