The LTC1595AIS8 is a serial input, 16-bit multiplicative current output DAC. It is pin and hardware compatible with the 12-bit DAC8043 and comes in an 8-pin SO package. The LTC1595AIS8 has a specified industrial temperature range. Compared with the industry-standard 12-bit DAC, the INL sensitivity to the operational amplifier VOS has decreased by five times. Therefore, most systems can be easily upgraded to true 16-bit resolution and linearity without the need for higher-precision operational amplifiers.
