MAX20328AEWA USB Type-C audio interface IC for portable devices. Since USB Type-C and Power over USB (PD) make high-voltage charging solutions readily available, there is a risk that the data and SBU cables will short-circuit to the high voltage of the bus, which could permanently damage the portable device. When the USB 2.0 data line is multiplexed with analogue audio signals, the latter can vary between positive and negative voltages, so protection is also required. When an audio accessory is plugged in, the device is able to detect CC pin connection events to disable microphone bias and avoid crackling poof noise.
