The S912ZVMBA4F0VLF combines an ADC that is synchronised to the PWM signal using a programmable trigger unit (PTU), and integrates a number of high-voltage analogue modules including a voltage regulator (VREG), a gate driver unit (GDU), and a local interconnect network (LIN) physical layer. These features enable a fully integrated single-chip solution to drive external power MOSFETs for motor drive applications.

The S912ZVMBA4F0VLF includes Error Correction Code (ECC) in RAM, Flash and EEPROM for diagnostics or data storage, a fast analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), and a frequency-modulated Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) for improved EMC performance. The S912ZVMBA4F0VLF offers all the benefits and efficiencies of a 16-bit MCU while retaining the low cost, low power, EMC, and code size efficiencies that existing S12 family users currently enjoy. In addition to the peripheral module I/O ports, there are other I/O ports with interrupt capability that can be woken up from stop or wait mode.
