The MAX22213AUI motor driver offers four independently controlled 36V, 3.8AMAX H half-bridge drivers. It can drive four solenids, two brushed DC motors, a stepper motor, or a combination of different loads.

The MAX22213AUI integrates dissipationless current sensing, eliminating the bulky external power resistors typically required for this function, saving space and power compared to mainstream applications based on external sensing. A current proportional to the internally detected load current is output to the external current monitor pin (ISEN_). Connecting external resistors to these pins produces a voltage proportional to the current of the motor. When current/torque information is required by the control algorithm, the voltage drop on the external resistor can be fed into the controller ADC.

The MAX22213AUI features OCP, thermal shutdown (TSD), and undervoltage lock (UVLO). An open leak low-level active FAULT pin is activated each time a fault condition is detected. In TSD and UVLO events, the drive outputs three states until normal operation is resumed.
