The LT8334RDE is an integrated 40V, 5A switching current-mode DC/DC converter that operates over a 2.8V to 40V input range. It has a unique single feedback pin architecture that enables boost, SEPIC or inverting configurations. At very low output currents, the burst mode of operation consumes as low as 9μA of quiescent current to maintain high efficiency while keeping typical output ripple below 15mV.
An external compensation pin allows optimisation of loop bandwidth over a wide input and output voltage range and a programmable switching frequency range of 300kHz to 2MHz. The SYNC/MODE pin enables synchronisation with an external clock. It can also be used to select between burst or pulse-skipping modes of operation with spread spectrum for low EMI. For efficiency, the BIAS pin can accept a second input to power the INTVCC regulator. Other features include frequency foldback and programmable soft-start to control inductor current during startup.
The LT8334RDE is available in a thermally enhanced 12-pin 4mm × 3mm DFN package.
