The MAX25612BAUP/V+ is a single-channel high-brightness LED (HB LED) driver suitable for automotive headlamp applications such as high beam, low beam, daytime running light (DRL), turn signal, fog light, and other LED lights. The device drives LED strings from 5V to 48V input voltages with a maximum output voltage of 65V. The MAX25612 is fully synchronous and is ideally suited for boost and step-up/step-down applications requiring synchronous rectification with efficiencies above 90%.
The MAX25612BAUP/V+ detects the output current on the high side of the LED string. The high-side current detection is required to protect the output from shorts to ground or the battery input, and is the most flexible method of driving LEDs, supporting boost, high-side buck, or boost/buck mode configurations. PWM inputs provide LED dimming ratios up to 5000:1, and ICTRL inputs provide the MAX25612 with additional analog dimming capabilities. the MAX25612 also supports FLT fault marking, which can The MAX25612 has built-in spread spectrum modulation for improved EMC performance. The MAX25612BAUP/V+ is available in a space-saving (4mm × 4mm), 20-pin side-mounted, moisture-proof TQFN package or a 20-pin TSSOP package and operates over the -40°C to +125°C automotive-grade temperature range.
