The AFE2256TDR 256-channel analog front end (AFE) is designed to meet the requirements of digital X-ray systems based on flat panel detectors (FPD). The AFE2256 includes 256 integrators, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), a correlated double sampler (CDS) with dual memory areas, and several 256:4 analog multiplexers. In addition, the device includes four 16-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC). ADC serial data is in low voltage differential signal (LVDS) format. With energy-saving features such as snooze mode and power off mode, power consumption can be significantly reduced, which is especially useful in battery-powered systems.
