Infineon introduces the new PSoC™ vehicle grade 4100S Max series. With improved flash density, universal Input/Output interface (GPIO), CAN-FD and hardware security, this family of microcontroller devices extends Infineon's portfolio of human machine interface (HMI) solutions for automotive body/Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and steering wheel applications using CAPSENSE™ technology.
The PSoC™ 4100S Max offers 10x increased sensitivity through fifth-generation CAPSENSE™ technology and is available in 100-TQFP (14x14 mm²), 64-TQFP (10x10 mm²) and 48-QFN (7x7 mm²) packages. The series is particularly suitable for automotive HMI applications that need to meet a range of requirements, such as low power consumption, multiple sensing pins (more than 50), optimised system refresh rates with configurable scan times, high-speed communication (CAN-FD, I2C), and dedicated hardware encryption that CAN offload the main CPU while increasing security. The device has up to 84 GPIOs and 384 KB of flash memory (the largest PSoC4 flash memory in its class).
