The LT3042IDD is a high performance low dropout linear regulator that uses LTC's ultra-low noise and ultra-high PSRR architecture to power noise sensitive RF applications.The LT3042 is designed as a high accuracy current reference followed by a high performance voltage buffer, which can be easily paralleled to further reduce noise, increase output current and dissipate heat on the PCB.

The device delivers 200mA at a typical dropout voltage of 350mV. The operating quiescent current has a nominal value of 2mA and is reduced to <<1μA in shutdown mode. The LT3042's wide output voltage range (0V to 15V) and ability to maintain unity-gain operation provides virtually constant output noise, PSRR, bandwidth, and load-adjustment ratio, independent of the programmed output voltage. In addition, the regulator features programmable current limits, fast start-up capability, and a programmable power good to indicate output voltage regulation.

The LT3042IDD can be stabilised with a 4.7μF (minimum) ceramic output capacitor. Built-in protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, reverse current protection, and internal current limit with foldback and thermal limit with hysteresis.
