The MP9842GL is a high-frequency, synchronous, rectified, buck, switch-mode converter with a built-in power MOSFET. It provides a very compact solution with 2A continuous output current over a wide input supply range of 3.3V to 36V with excellent load and line regulation. The switching frequency is programmable and can also be synchronised to an external clock in the 350kHz to 2.5MHz range. Synchronous operation and an ultra-low 14μA sleep mode quiescent current provide high efficiency over the output current load range, enabling the MP9842 to be used in a variety of step-down applications in automotive input environments and battery-powered applications.
